Little Governors' Camp

This, like its bigger brother, has long been one of the camps to stay in in the Mara and comprises 17 large safari tents dotted along the banks of the river.

Governors' Camp

It was one of the first operations to set up camps in the Mara on the site once used by the old Governors of Kenya. All of the camps are, today, placed along a 2 mile stretch of the Mara River with Governors’ being the original and the largest of the four.

This is located down on the very eastern edge of the Mara and the border of Tanzania. The camp harks back to the days of gramophones, hand cranked cars and old world charm.

Bateleur

Serian

This was discovered by the owner, Alex Walker, while working as a private guide in the area. Located on the sides of a small valley that drops down to the Mara River and close to the Serian Escarpment, it is very welll located for the migration whilst being set aside from the bustle of the other camps.

Elephant Pepper Camp

This is one of the Cheli and Peacock properties that include the wonderful Joy’s Camp and Elsa’s Kopje, and Elephant Pepper is of the same ilk. The emphasis and guiding principle for the camp has been on the fact that for 3 months the camp is totally dismantled to give the area time to re-populate and rejuvenate.

This is a beautiful and intimate camp set amongst one of the various “luggers”, or dry river valleys, that are strewn across this area.

Rekero Kidogo

It is associated with the Beaton family, who have long been held in esteem in the area...it is a move into the concession lands and bush camping. The camp has been set up amongst white thorn acacia on the slopes of the hills just north of the Mara.
