Kitich Camp – Our viewSince it has recently changed hands, Kitich Camp has moved away from the once very rustic experience it was with Guilio. There is still no compromising on the experience, but with electricity throughout the night it is has a slightly softer feel. The onus is still, however, very much on getting out into this stunning region with walking a particular recommendation. If you are looking for a touch of utter wilderness and a great place to relax….the only drawback is getting there!

Kitich Camp – The Detail
The Mathews Mountain Range rise up out of the desert; a chain of peaks covered in dense dewy forest. In a remote valley, Kitich Camp overlooks a river glade within the lush indigenous forest. The forest is home to elephant, melanistic leopard, bushbuck, giant forest hog, rhino, buffalo, as well as ancient cycads, spectacular butterflies, Turacos and wild orchids.
With only six guest tents, one can expect complete privacy. Each en suite tent is traditionally safari-style, with an al-fresco stone bathroom. Kitich Camp’s cosy lounge with open fire and sheepskin-covered safari chairs overlooks the floodlit river glade – from here guests can enjoy watching the wildlife emerge from the forest at dusk.
Walk along forest paths guided by the Samburu and Ndorobo people, or swim in natural rock pools of the crystal mountain streams, Kitich Camp offers a truly unique and private forest wildlife experience.
