Most possibly, one of the most famous lodges in East Africa. Made famous through its link with George Adamson’s lions, this rocky outcrop now hosts a collection of luxury cottages that are dotted amongst its crags.

Each of the 9 rooms has been designed to wrap around the rock that provides the rear wall, and out from the front the views across the Meru plains are spectacular. With a great infinity pool and communal dining and lounge area, the lodge has rightly deserved its reputation.

The most significant feature of Elsas, apart from the views that stretch for years and the perfect tranquility, is the staff and their attitude to the camp. The camp makes a point of growing most of its own produce and so boasts a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables with which to cook. This is a great camp and the park has good populations of Kudu and elephant so the park is held by those in the know as one of the best. A few days in this lodge is a real treat.
